It's just our perception of time. Time always goes by at the same pace everyday and each year. But the more time we experience then the shorter the years seem to be.
I can remember being a kid and thinking how time was just dragging on an wish it would speed up so I can become an adult.
Now that I'm an adult I think that time went by too fast and wish I could slow down time.
