A Chevy 350 small block engine will take 5 quarts of oil with the filter.

So get at least 5 quarts of oil and add the 4 quarts to the 350 small block engine and then start it up and let it run so that the oil can get through the filter and engine.

Then shut it off and let the engine sit for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the engine oil to drip back to the oil pan and then pull the engine oil dipstick again and check the level.

Then pour the other quart of oil into the engine and it should be full.

Just avoid overfilling the engine with engine oil because overfilling the engine with oil can cause damage to the engine.

But your 350 small block engine should take 5 quarts of oil to refill it.

If you can afford too I would recommend buying a 55 gallon drum of engine oil so that you always have enough engine oil on hand to change your engine oil often enough.

It's cheaper to buy the engine oil in the 55 gallon quantities and it lasts me around 5 years of changing oil even though it costs me $300.00 for the 55 gallons of oil.

I save around $400.00 by buying the oil in that quantity but you need a place to store the large quantity of oil so if you don't have a shop or garage then you'll just have to buy it by the quarts.
