When you're smelling coffee and it's not there or you're not actually making coffee it can be caused by things such as temporal lobe seizures, epilepsy, or head trauma.
If the smell of coffee doesn't go away soon then you should see a doctor because you could be having any of those problems that could be starting even if you never had seizures before.
The medical term for smelling something that isn't there or smelling coffee when it's not there is known as phantosmia which is also sometimes associated with Alzheimer's and the beginning or onset of a migraine.
I would certainly see a doctor to get checked out to make sure nothing more serious is going on if the smell of coffee doesn't go away soon.
