Why is my rv refrigerator not cooling?

I haven't used my travel trailer since last summer. I'm getting it ready to go on a road trip next month. I powered on my rv refrigerator and it's not getting cool.

It's been on for 3 hours now and it still hasn't gotten cold.

It sounds like the heating element is out on your rv refrigerator.

Check and see if the back of your rv refrigerator is getting hot. If not then it's most likely the element. Try seeing if it will cool using propane.

If it doesn't then something else is wrong. Unlikely but if it doesn't cool when it's heated up with propane then you might have somehow lost the ammonia in the refrigerator.
