If you open a credit card and never use the credit card then no it will not raise your credit score and eventually the credit card company might just close your credit card account.

If you want to increase your credit score with the credit card you need to use the credit card after opening it and then pay the credit card balance off in full each month if possible.

Then as you use your credit card and pay on time and keep the balance paid off your credit score will then increase and you'll build up your credit.

But if you just open a credit card and never use it then you might actually harm your credit score instead of helping to build your credit.

So if you want to build your credit you need to use the credit card and then make the payments on time and correctly.

Overtime then your credit score will improve.
