Is it bad to sleep in the day and stay awake at night?

It's always best to go to sleep at night if possible since our internal clocks in our bodies are made to know that nighttime is the time we sleep.

So when you sleep during the day and stay up at night your internal body clock gets messed up and makes it hard for you to get a good resting sleep.

I once had a night shift job where I had to sleep during the day and work at night and it really messed with my sleep because I could never really get enough sleep during the daytime.

My body was so used to falling asleep at night and staying awake at night so I couldn't get enough sleep during the day and my work during the night suffered.

I had to quit that job and return to a job in the day.

So yes it's bad for our bodies and health to sleep in the day and stay awake at night and if possible you should sleep during the night and stay up during the day to keep your internal body clock working like it should.
