Washing Stainless Steel Pans and Flatware in the dishwasher is perfectly fine although the worse that could happen is you discolor the stainless steel pans but I never had that happen.
You can easily fix the discoloration anyway if the dishwasher does happen to discolor the stainless steel pans but it should not be a problem.
I wash most of my dishes and pots and pans in my dishwasher including stainless steel pans without a problem even though it's not recommended by some people to put stainless steel pans in the dishwasher.
But for me it's never been a problem but if you're worried about it then you can just wash them by hand.
