When drinking half your weight in water you should drink half your weight in water in ounces so yes for optimal health you should be drinking half your weight in water but in ounces and not in lbs.

For optimal health it's recommended you drink at least 8 glasses of water per day that are 8 ounce glasses but you can drink up to 12 glasses of water per day which is okay as well.

Just don't drink too much water because you can get water poisoning and the water poisoning can cause kidney failure because your kidneys won't be able to remove the amount of water that is consumed.

But drinking 12 glasses of water is healthy and if you're sweating more then you lose more water through sweating so you need to increase your water consumption to stay hydrated and healthy.

It's best to drink some water before you're even thirsty to avoid dehydration especially if you're out working or just out in hot weather.

Water is the very best drink for keeping your body hydrated and flushed out of toxins.

You can drink half your weight in water through the day but just don't drink half your weight in water in one go.

Slowly drink the water through the day because your kidneys need time to filter out that water.

If you do drink too much water at a time then you could get water poisoning and damage your kidneys.
