The medical term for waking up in the middle of the night sweating is "nocturnal hyperhidrosi" which is just a fancy term for night sweats.
Night sweats can be caused by underlying medical conditions or medicines you're taking or the night sweats can simply be caused by being overheated such as your room may be too hot or you're getting too hot under the blankets.
Sometimes your bodies glands overreact throughout the body due to medications or a medical condition which can cause excessive sweating at night.
So if you're not sleeping in too hot of a room or you're not too hot from blankets then I would speak with a doctor and let them know that you're waking up in the middle of the night with sweating because it can usually be fixed by your doctor if it's caused by a medical condition or some medicine you're taking.
It's not usually normal to wake up drenched in sweat unless you're constantly hot so I would advise seeing your doctor about it.
