A Jeep Cherokee that has not been fitted yet with a tow package can safely tow up to 2,000 lbs which is around a ton in weight.
So that's pretty good weight for a Jeep Cherokee to be able to tow without the tow package.
But if you have a tow package installed on the Jeep Cherokee then it can safely haul up to 4,500 lbs of weight so the Jeep Cherokee is a pretty good vehicle for towing with especially if you add the tow package which you have to do if you plan to tow more than 2,000 lbs with it.
I used to have a Jeep Cherokee and I had a tow package installed to increase the towing capacity and that thing did really good towing heavy weights for me.
When I was moving to another state I hauled a lot of weight from one state to another when moving furniture and other things I had and that Jeep Cherokee did a great job.
