The average age that babies no longer require or want to be swaddled is between 3 to 4 months of age.
However some babies continue to love being swaddled until age 5 months of age.
But 5 months of age is when the baby is usually no longer wanting to be swaddled and may actually put up a fuss if you try swaddling the baby.
Swaddling is good for babies but at at least 5 months old they no longer want to be swaddled or need to be swaddled.
Newborn babies are also born with a startle reflex which is called the Moro reflex, and most babies don't outgrow it until 5 months of age.
