The City of Chicago which gets plenty of wind has been named and known as the windy city for many years.

The name and reference to Chicago as the Windy City dates back to as long ago as the year 1856 which is when it was nicknamed the windy city.

However it's not actually the wind that caused Chicago to be nicknamed the windy city even though Chicago gets so much wind and is literally a windy city because of the strong gusts of wind blowing off Lake Michigan.

But instead Chicago was named the Windy City due to the hot hair that comes out of Politicians mouths which is why it was called the Windy City because too much hot hair was coming from politicians in Chicago back then and still really does to this day.
