When you have arthritis you basically have swelling of the joints.

So when you have arthritis in your hip you'll have swelling of the joints in your hip.

Some other signs that you may have arthritis in your hip are pain and joint stiffness as well as tenderness in your hip area.

Hip pain is not always a sign of arthritis though but could be other problems with your hip that could be more serious so if you have any hip pain or your hips are swelling or you feel tenderness in your hips then you need to see a doctor to see whether it's arthritis or something more serious.
