When I had a pelvic exam done it was a little uncomfortable and felt kind of weird while the pelvic exam was being performed but it didn't really hurt.
During a pelvic exam it separates the walls of your vagina when it opens for the pelvic exam which causes the weird and uncomfortable feeling.
If the pelvic exam is hurting you though which it shouldn't then let your doctor know and also if you would like to see your cervix during the pelvic exam then ask the doctor as they will let you.
