As long as the street you're parking on is legal to park on for the time period you're parking your vehicle then no it's not illegal to park in front of someone's house.

The street is publicly owned and is public property so you can legally park on the street legally in front of someone's house.

It's only illegal to park in front of someone's house if the street prohibits parking there or you're parked in the street blocking someone's driveway either partially or fully.

Just make sure there are no signs saying parking prohibited in the area and you'll be fine.

The homeowner might get mad and if they do just be peaceful and move the vehicle if they request you do so even though you legally don't have too.

It's better to keep the peace than to keep up an argument.
