Holding a young baby too much before 1 year of age is not really possible and you can hold the baby as much as you can.

And you really should hold the baby as much as you can because you won't be able to hold the baby for too long because they grow into a toddler and a big kid and then an adult really fast.

But if the baby cries when you or someone is holding him/her then you might be holding it too much in the babies opinion.

Still you can't hold a baby all the time because you have other things to do.

When the baby turns into a toddler and gets to 2 to 3 years old you won't hardly be able to keep the child in your arms for too long before they try to fight loose and start running around.
