Some babies like swaddling while other babies hate it and if the baby hates being swaddled do not force the baby to be swaddled because it's not a necessary thing to do.
But some babies enjoy being swaddled and if they do then it's perfectly fine and good for those babies to be swaddled.
Swaddling moderates the Moro reflex and helps some babies feel safe because it simulates the womb.
Babies will outgrow the need for swaddling and the Moro Reflex by age 6 months at the latest so you won't need to swaddle the baby after 6 months of age but some babies stop being swaddled by 4 months of age.
If the baby cries when you swaddle him/her then it usually means that the baby hates being swaddled so you shouldn't do it then.
