The most common way that Whipple disease is diagnosed is through a biopsy which means taking a tissue sample usually from the lining of the small intestine.
The biopsy is a very important test to be sure you have Whipple Disease or not.
The doctor may also use a camera inside your intestines to see what the inside of your intestines look like.
A "PCR" test also known as Polymerase chain reaction test and even a blood test can be used to test for Whipple Disease.
Whipple Disease when caught soon enough can be cured but if Whipple Disease is left untreated it can be fatal.
