Toxic shock syndrome is a very serious condition that mainly occurs in women who are menstruating and can be potentially fatal in some cases if left untreated.

Toxic Shock Syndrome causes a sharp drop in your blood pressure that deprives your vital organs of oxygen and can lead to death.

Toxic Shock Syndrome is mostly caused by super absorbent Tampons and always requires medical attention to prevent death.

Any woman of any age while menstruating can get Toxic Shock Syndrome but it's most common in woman 19 and younger.

Symptoms of Toxic Shock Syndrome are, muscle aches, confusion, redness of your eyes mouth and throat, a rash that occurs on your palms and soles that is similar to sunburn, low blood pressure, vomiting, diarrhea, a sudden high fever and even seizures.

If you experience any of those symptoms get medical attention to prevent potential death.

The symptoms of toxic shock syndrome usually start appearing after 2 days of infection but sometimes can occur much sooner.

The symptoms of toxic shock syndrome (TSS) start suddenly and get worse quickly.

The Toxic Shock Syndrome symptoms can include: a high temperature. flu-like symptoms, such as a headache, feeling cold, feeling tired or exhausted, an aching body, a sore throat and a cough.

TSS or Toxic Shock Syndrome is's incredibly rare, affecting less than one out of every 100,000 people in the U.S.

And if you use your tampons properly, your risk of developing TSS is no higher than that of a man who's never had a period.
