Burns are very painful compared to other types of injuries because the heat or chemical that burned you damages the skins tissues which are very sensitive.

When that skin and tissue gets damaged it becomes very painful and takes awhile for the pain to go away.

More severe burns are sometimes more painful and can even result in death if the burn is severe enough and some burns such as a sixth degree burn which is the worse burn can even char your bones and the burn has to get very deep for it to do that.

First degree burns result in less pain than more severe burns but even a first degree burn is pretty painful due to the sensitivity of the tissue and skin and it can also cause redness and swelling.
