When you're born you actually have more DNA passed down to you from your Father.
You can inherit some features such as eye color etc from your mother but most of the features and DNA come from your fathers DNA.
You get 50% of your Genes from your father and 50% of your Genes from your mother but you get more DNA from your father than you do your mother.
When I was born I got more features from my father as well than I did from my mother even though I got the same eye color as my mother but I look a lot more like my father than I do of my mother.
