Quail typically begin laying eggs during the spring months and sometimes even during the summer months.
The months that Quail usually lay eggs are April, May and June which is when the Quail mating rituals begin and the time when the Quail build their nests and lay the eggs.
And from the months of September and April quail will flock together in coveys which is when they start getting ready to lay eggs.
Quail are also most fertile at ages 2 and 8 months of age and the Quail lay an average clutch of 10 to 16 eggs, although some species of Quail may lay up to 28 small, speckled eggs.
