Bag Phone can you still activate and use them?

I bought an old bag phone at a yard sale just because I wanted to have it for a collection but I'm wondering if I could still activate the old bag phone and use it to make calls?

The bag phone fully charges and comes on but not sure if it would be possible to activate it on the cellphone towers today?

The bag phone is from 1998 which is 21 years ago now.

I've read online somewhere before that someone was able to activate a bag phone on Verizon towers by doing some programming of the bag phone.

But that was around 4 or 5 years ago so I'm not sure if it's still possible and I wouldn't know how the person exactly did it.

A Verizon worker may be able to activate it or another telephone company worker might know how to activate it to work on their towers but there's no guarantee.

Still that's a nice find as my dad used to have one of those bag phones in 1998 when I was a kid and I thought it was the coolest thing at the time.
