If the person is blind in one eye then the living person could donate that cornea but if you can see well and are not blind then there would be no good reason really to remove your cornea and donating it to someone else.

Most cornea transplants come from donors who have died but it's possible to donate a cornea while alive but it's not advisable because when you're living and can see you need that cornea yourself to see.
