Any medications that are over the counter including the nicotine patches are not covered by medicaid or any type of insurance.

Over the counter medicine and nicotine patches have to be paid for out of pocket.

But Medicare part D plan may cover the cost of prescription medications that help you stop smoking if you've been prescribed to them by a doctor.

Nicotine patches aren't cheap but they're not overly expensive either and cost around $25.00 to $30.00 per box depending on the the type of nicotine patches and the brand you buy.
