Why does the top of my head feel like it's getting shocked by electricity?

My head has been hurting since this morning and every once in awhile I feel like I'm being shocked by some low voltage on the top of my head?

What could be causing the top of my head to feel like it's being shocked by electricity?

I get that problem myself with my head feeling like a jolt of electricity is shocking it.

Our heads and bodies do contain electrical circuits and it's normal to sometimes feel an electric shock in your head.

I told my doctor about it just in case something serious may have been happening but the doctor said it was normal and nothing serious and that it should go away within a few days.

It is painful and irritating as well but there's not too much you can do about it but you could try massaging the head where the electric shock is happening which sometimes helps me.

The medical term for the electric shock feeling in your head on top of your scalp is "Occipital neuralgia" which happens when there's pressure or irritation to your occipital nerves.
