You can take your old empty propane tank to Homedepot and exchange it for another full propane tank.
Of course you have to buy the new propane in the new tank but you'll get around $20.00 off the propane purchase by bringing in your old propane tank.
They will then send the old propane tank off for recycling.
I always take my propane tanks in for exchange of a new full propane cylinder.
