I have a 30 year mortgage on my house and want to be able to pay the mortgage off in 15 years instead of 30 years.
Should I pay the mortgage off sooner or use the extra money for investments?

Yes pay off your mortgage sooner if you can. If you don't you'll be paying up to $20,000.00 or more in just interest on the 30 year mortgage.
