Both a power of attorney and durable power of attorney are pretty much the same except if the power of attorney is referred to as being durable then the durable power of attorney remains valid and in effect even if you become incapacitated and unable to make decisions for yourself.

The durable power of attorney allows someone else to take over in the event you become incapacitated.

Without the durable power of attorney it ends if you become incapacitated.
