If the miscarriage happens when you're less than eight weeks pregnant then the miscarried baby will be basically expelled tissue that looks no different than heavy menstrual bleeding and will resemble nothing like a baby.
If you're further along in your pregnancy then you may see what looks a bit like a fetus but the miscarriage won't look like a full term baby.
Sometimes you may see expelled tissue that looks like an embryo or fetus and sometimes it may not look like an embryo or fetus.
