When working out and drinking protein shakes it makes no difference whether you drink the protein shake before your workout or after your workout.
I personally drink the protein shake after the workout because having the protein shake after the workout is refreshing for me and gives me that extra energy after working out.
You can drink a protein shake before and after a workout if you want too but drinking the protein shake after the workout works great for me.
The protein in the protein shakes also play an important role in repairing and rebuilding your muscles after your workout.
