Smoking is a bad habit and is bad for your health and lungs as well.
When you smoke you increase your risk of heart disease, heart attacks, strokes and yes emphysema as well as COPD.
About 20% of smokers are diagnosed with emphysema which could've easily be prevented had the person decided to never smoke.
Once getting into the habit of smoking it's hard to break the habit although not impossible but if you do have the habit of smoking it's best to do all you can to stop smoking to prolong your life and prevent lung conditions and heart disease.
