A power of attorney is only responsible for making decisions and seeing that those bills get paid from the persons assets or insurance or other finances.

However the power attorney is not personally responsible for paying the medical bills or any other bills out of their own pocket.

So a power attorney can't be forced to pay someone else's medical bills or other bills as they're just responsible for ensuring the bills get paid and making decisions for the person who is unable to make those decisions.
