If you own the property or land then it should not be a problem to go camping on your own property.
Some cities and towns however prohibit parking camper trailers or RV's in your yard and camping in them or storing them on your property which is not right.
I've camped out in a tent in my back yard before and never had a problem but someone may turn you in if there is an ordinance.
Most times it won't be a problem if you're camping way outside city limits in your camper or RV on your own land.
I bought a cheap piece of land that is just wooded and doesn't have any water or electricity where I like to go sometimes to camp for a week or two just to get away from the town life and get refreshed.
I hope to one day though build a small home on the property and retire to it once I no longer need to be close to my job.
