Changing a toddlers diaper is basically the same as changing a newborns diaper.

But at 3 years old it can be a little more challenging to change the 3 year old's diaper. Most 3 year old boys are not gonna want to be cooperative in getting their diaper change. You'll most likely have to wrestle the 3 year old boy down to get his diaper changed.

Before you begin the diaper change make sure you have all the diaper changing supplies needed. Get the clean diaper ready, the powder, diaper rash cream if he uses it, and wipes.

You might also give him a toy to distract him with during his diaper change. Or let him watch some videos on your cellphone while you change the diaper.

Undo the tapes on his dirty diaper, pull back the diaper and then wipe him clean. Always wipe front to back on both boys and girls. This is to prevent spread of bacteria that can cause UTI's Urinary Tract Infections.

After wiping place the new diaper underneath the dirty diaper and then pull the old diaper out and lower the baby/toddler onto the new diaper.

Next bring the new clean diaper up between the toddlers legs and then fasten one side of the diaper tapes at a time.

Make sure the diaper is snug and not too loose but not too tight either.

At last you can run a finger around the standing leg gathers to help prevent the leaks in the leg gathers area.

Next you can get the child dressed and then wash both of your hands and the child's hands.
