When you have a wound and a scab appears over that wound the scab is there to cover the wound and protect it from infection.
So never pick a scab and let the scab fall off on it's own within 5 to 10 days.
If you do pick at a scab it makes the wound and scab take longer to heal and fall off naturally and yes picking scabs can lead to scars where the wound was.
