If the cord blood banking is deemed medically necessary then sometimes health insurance will over cord blood banking costs.

But if it's not medically necessary then you have to cover the cost of cord blood banking out of your own pocket.

There is an initial fee of around $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 for the cord blood banking and then another yearly fee of around $75.00 to $150.00 per year depending on where you have the cord blood banked.

Cord blood will then last around 25 years or more and it's not that expensive to bank cord blood and can be well worth it in the event you need the cord blood in the future.
