I've heard online that singing happy birthday is illegal and is a copyrighted song but in reality yes the happy birthday song is copyrighted but you cannot be in trouble for singing happy birthday either on video or on some other recording.
You certainly aren't gonna get into trouble singing happy birthday at your home because no cops or anyone would know about it.
So go ahead and sing happy birthday if you want too as you're not gonna get into trouble.
