Farting a lot is very normal and some people do even fart in their sleep without them knowing about it.
I used to fart a lot in my sleep when I shared a bed with my brother as a kid and he decided one day to never sleep in the same bed with me again because of my farting.
That was funny and he said he'd rather sleep on the couch.
