Is getting a credit score from Credit Karma Really Free?

Credit Karma Advertises that you can get your credit score for free from them.

Is Credit Karma really free or do they charge you for your credit score?

Yes it is. They never ask for credit card information. I've been using them to check on my credit score for a year now.
