Having kidney failure doesn't always mean you'll live a shorter life.

As long as you're on dialysis you can usually live a normal lifespan even without a donor kidney.

Some patients who are on dialysis have been on dialysis for 20 to 25 years or more and most times when a patient dies sooner it's because they're already 70 years old or older and even then they've lived a normal lifespan even though they haven't been on dialysis for long.

So if you need dialysis it doesn't always mean that you're gonna die within a few years and you can usually expect to live another 20 to 25 years or more even when on dialysis.
