Yes the change in weather and climate can cause joint paint to flare up and exacerbate arthritis.

My mom who has arthritis always has more pain when it gets colder and less pain when the weather warms back up.

So yes the cold weather can cause arthritis to be more painful because it swells joints up more than warm weather.

The changes in barometric pressure can cause an inflammatory response which causes joints to swell up causing the pain.
