Medicare doesn't typically cover home health aides unless it's part of skilled nursing care or other therapy.

Just home health aides without skilled nursing medicare will not cover and you'll have to use other health insurance etc to pay for the home health aides services.

You can also find insurance that is purchased just for covering the cost of a home health aide and if the person is a veteran they may also cover the cost of a medically needed home health aide so check into that.

Medicaid may also cover the cost of home health aides that are medically necessary but the coverage can vary from state to state.

A typical out of pocket cost for a home health aide is $135.00 per visit so while it's not too expensive it can be hard to cover the cost if you don't have much income.
