Larry Ellison the Oracle co founder and billionaire owns 98% of a Hawaiian Island or Lana'i which is the 6th largest Hawaiian island.

Larry Ellison purchased the majority of the Lana'i Hawaiian island in 2012, which also includes 2 four seasons resorts, most of the infrastructure as well as many residential properties.

Larry Ellison bought the Lana'i island land for around $300 million from billionaire David Murdock in 2012.

The state of Hawaii owns over 1.5 million acres of land and the federal government so owns over 530,000 acres of land and Kamehameha Schools is also the largest private land owner in Hawaii with owning over 360,000 acres and major ranchers like Mahi Pono and Billionaires like Larry Ellison owns 98 percent of the island of Lania.

Oprah is also another major land owner in Hawaii.

Oprah lives in Maui Hawaii part time.

Oprah fell in love with the beauty of Maui Hawaii, including the mountains and oceans and so she originally bought land in  in 2002 to 2003, to prevent developers from building condos in the area and chose to create a private and tranquil retreat in Upcountry Kula.

Oprah owns over 1,000 acres in Maui Hawaii, including in Hana and a ranch home in Kula.

Oprah also frequently visits Hawaii for leisure and often is seen hiking or driving an ATV around her expansive and remodeled estate.

Also Oprah has lived there in Maui Hawaii for over 15 years and has also invested in local projects and has also supported wildlife relief efforts.

Although Oprah's extensive land acquisitions have also drawn criticism from some locals regarding her land usage.
