Becoming a 911 operator does not require you to go to college but instead you'll be doing on the job training to become a 911 operator.

911 operators and dispatchers need to be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED and in some places they require a drivers license which I'm not sure why but that's how it is in some places.

You'll need to have knowledge in CPR and be Certified in CPR which you'll get when applying for and working on the Job as a 911 operator.

You also need to be able to type fast and be able to focus and multi task to become a 911 operator.

To become successful at being a 911 operator you need to type accurately at least 90 words per minute to keep the job.

A police officer will be trying to give you a lot of information really fast which you need to type into the computer and sometimes that information may not be clear either.
