How to get my neighbor's dogs to stop barking at me whenever I'm in my backyard?

My next door neighbors have 8 dogs and are breeding the dogs and every time I go out into my yard I get growled at and constantly barked at and the barking doesn't even immediately stop when I go inside the house.

I can look out my window and one of the dogs which is a Pit Bull tries to break through the fence.

I've called the police and they said there was nothing they could do about the dangerous dog?

If the neighbors are good people then I would advise to first go up to them and let them know what is happening and tell the neighbors that there dog is being a threat to you when you're out in your yard.

I would also recommend filming the problem when the dog continues to bark at your or is growling at you through the fence which can be used in court if needed.

If you have documentation on video that the dog is being aggressive to you for no reason then that video could be used as evidence to get the dog taken away and possibly euthanized should the dog be determined a danger.

You can also use a dog whistle to help shut the dog up or use an ultrasonic device that triggers when the dog is barking.

If the dog is a danger though then you need to speak to the dogs owners and if needed get the animal control or city or town involved about the dog before it injures or kills someone.

Also you can rightfully kill the dog if the dog is actually trying to get to you.

I was told by a police officer once that I had the legal right to shoot a neighbors dog if it came at me and tried to attack me while I was on my property.

I had to kill the dog with a gun because nothing else worked and we didn't have any animal control around here.

You do have a legal right to defend yourself against the dog if it's being a danger to you or someone else.
