The Black Death was a very extremely painful death.
The Black Death was a very painful death as it caused sudden high fevers, severe headaches, body aches, delirium, vomiting, as well as terrifyingly swollen, pus filled lymph nodes that are called buboes in your groin, armpits or neck, which lead to blackened skin, internal bleeding and often death that occurred within days.
The most common symptom of the Black Death is buboes which were incredibly painful, swollen glands that could rupture and even leak pus, which earned the disease it's bubonic name.
Other symptoms of the Black Death were intense aches,, fever and chills, gastrointestinal distress, hemorrhaging and blackening and if the infection reached the lungs it would result in pneumonic plague and cause chest pain, shortness of breath, and coughing up of bloody sputum, which made breathing excruciating.
Victims of the Black Death would suffer from severe body pain, headaches and muscle aches.
With the Black Death you would also experience sudden, high fevers that were accompanied by chills and also nausea, vomiting and stomach pain that were also frequent.
And in more severe cases of the Black Death, septicemic plague could occur and result in skin and tissues turning black "gangrene" as a result of internal bleeding, especially on toes, fingers and the nose.
The Black Death disease also progressed very rapidly and often killed it's infected victims within 3 days and sometimes even faster, especially if they didn't get treatment.
The sheer agony of the buboes, the fever and organ failure with the Black Death also made the experience of the Black Death very horrific.
The Black Death was a very devastating illness and was characterized by intense pain, rapid decline and even frightening physical manifestations.
