Transporting firewood across state lines is illegal in most places and could get you a fine if stopped by police.
The reason it's illegal to transport firewood across state lines is due to transport of bugs that can affect and kill other trees in the other states.
So I would advise against transporting firewood from one state to another unless you transport the firewood in an enclosed trailer so that the police cannot see what's inside.
