The organ that is just below your rib cage is your large liver.

Your large liver is just below your rib cage on the right side.

And your gallbladder is also tucked underneath the large liver below your rib cage on the right side.

The spleen and even part of your stomach are also under your ribs on the left side, and the kidneys and your intestines are also in the general area.

On the right side the liver, which is the biggest solid organ, sits under the right ribs and plays a huge role in digestion and detoxification.

The gallbladder is then located under your liver and stores bile.

Your right kidney is found in the back and just below your liver.

And your intestines and parts of the large and small intestines are also below the ribs here.

On the left side below your rib cage is the spleen, which is a spongy organ that filters blood and is nestled under your left ribs and next to your stomach.

A portion of your stomach is also protected by your lower left ribs.

And the left kidney is located in the back on the left side, and similar to the right kidney.

The organs that are directly under the rib cage vary by which side they are on, although your liver on the right and the spleen on the left are the most prominent organs in the upper abdomen and below the rib cage.
