Getting your own car insurance when you're a teenager and just starting out driving can be more expensive than just having your name added to your parents insurance policy.
When I was a teenager and first got my drivers license I got added to my parents insurance policy because it was gonna be more expensive for me to have my own car insurance as a teenager.
I kept my car insurance on my parents auto insurance until I was 25 which allowed me to save money on the auto insurance until I got a good driving record and when I turned 25 and decided to get my own auto insurance the car insurance was much cheaper because I had a good driving record.
So yes I would advise to be on our parents car insurance until you're 25 and then you can get your cheaper car insurance after that.
Of course you can get your own car insurance when you're 18 or at any age but it's best to be on your parents car insurance policy to save money on car insurance.
